Why Does My Data Bundle Delay? What To Expect in Ghana
Sometimes data bundles take longer than expected to arrive. Here's exactly why it happens, what we can and can't control, and what you should do if your order is delayed.
You placed an order. Your wallet has been debited. But 15 minutes later, the data hasn't arrived on the recipient's phone. What's going on? This page is the honest, no-excuses explanation of why data bundles sometimes delay in Ghana, what's in our control and what isn't, and what to do if it happens to you.
The Short Answer
Most orders deliver in 1–5 minutes. When a delay happens, it's almost always because of network validation issues on the provider's side — MTN, Telecel, or AirtelTigo's own portal is slow to confirm the order. This is something we cannot control directly, but it does not mean your order is lost. Every order is tracked and will be delivered. If delivery fails completely, your wallet is refunded automatically.
What Actually Happens Behind the Scenes
When you place an order, a chain of systems has to cooperate for your data to arrive:

Steps 1 and 2 are always fast. Steps 3, 4, and 5 are on the network's side — they're the biggest source of delays.
Why the Network Side Slows Down
Mobile networks in Ghana handle millions of transactions per day — voice, SMS, MoMo, data bundles, reward programs, all at once. On most days everything runs fine. But on some days:
Portal validation is slow
The network's internal system that checks SIM eligibility is overloaded and takes minutes instead of seconds to respond.
Scheduled maintenance
Networks periodically maintain the systems that provision data. Orders placed during maintenance windows queue until it ends, then process in order.
High traffic periods
Payday weekends, end of month, public holidays, and major events drive enormous order volumes. Queue times go up across every data provider in Ghana.
Temporary API outages
Sometimes the provider's connection to the network breaks entirely for a few minutes. Our system automatically retries these orders when the link comes back.
Bundle eligibility checks
Some bundles require the recipient number to meet certain conditions — no blockers on the SIM, correct account type, etc. When these checks are slow, the whole order waits.
None of these are things we — or any other data seller in Ghana — can fix directly. The network owns the portal; we're customers of the same system everyone else uses.
What We Do to Protect You
We can't control the network, but we have built the system to protect your money and data no matter what happens on the provider side:
Multiple providers
If one wholesale provider is slow or down, our system automatically routes orders through another one with better uptime that day.
Automatic retry queue
Every unconfirmed order goes back into a retry queue that keeps trying until the order succeeds or is confirmed as failed.
Automatic refunds
If an order cannot be delivered at all, the full amount is refunded to your wallet without you needing to ask — usually within minutes.
Live delivery tracker
The delivery status shown when you're buying reflects the real-time condition of the network — you see it before you order, so there are no surprises.

What To Do If Your Order Is Taking Long

Most "delayed" orders arrive in that window once the provider catches up.

Check the delivery status on the buy page
If the network is flagged as slow, you're seeing a temporary network issue, not a system failure. Orders will still deliver — it just takes longer that day.

A tiny typo is the single biggest cause of failed deliveries. Double-check all 10 digits.
